One PM too many today.

I am really having trouble dealing with issues of both personal and artistic integrity in the doll community lately.  I feel very discouraged, disappointed and tired.  Marketplace irresponsibility and full-out dishonesty, not to mention member entitlement/persecution complexes are wearing on me. For this reason, I am going to be largely inactive on the forum for a bit lest I lose my faith in the people in the hobby.

I’ll still be participating in the Head-a-Day challenge I started in the Artist Subforum, and I’ll be continuing with my commissions as scheduled.  However, in general I will be mostly just sticking to the moderator-only areas and working on the backend with the servermasters as needed.

We need to move.  Our new upstairs neighbor walks like a moose, stays up later than us and gets up earlier, and seems to do nothing but listen to music, loudly pace the apartment, and flush his toilet.

And now we’ve discovered that he’s also using our washer and dryer.  We pay extra to rent a washer and dryer from our landlord, and it’s hooked into our electric and water.  So not only is he not paying to use our washer/dryer, he’s also running up our electric bill.  And the asshat doesn’t clear out the lint trap.  That’s what made me suspect something to begin with.  We split the rental cost with our downstairs neighbor, and she’s good about cleaning out the trap.

Argh.  I’m not sure what to do about the stupid washer/dryer thing.

As a reward to myself for finishing a couple things, I let myself redo Rory.  (It’s also my overdue reward for passing the 7).

More on the online Poker Cats Contest

It never ceases to amaze me how much DoA members can get me riled up.

This “Are Anthros BJDs” thread in particular is regally pissing me off, as you might glean by the number of times I’ve posted to it.  It’s amazing, really, how people will never be happy and will always assume the worst.  We mark two anthro dolls as being off-topic, and suddenly the whole forum is in the throes of speculating that DoA is going to ban anthros across the board.

And they bitch, and pontificate… (meantime, the mods have said repeatedly, no, we’re not banning anthros, relax, we’ll have news for you soon, exciting news).  One asshat implies that people should boycott, the way eBay is being boycotted for their bizarre new policies.  A tangental example that I made got even more tangental and led to my getting flamed, as did a comment I made about entitlement.  Someone said “Your words have just insulted every person who uses this forum including your self as a moderator of this form.” And I think, “Why the hell am I still working on this forum?”  Seriously.  The amount of time that the moderators spend maintaining the forum and trying to make things better for members is mind-boggling, and yet the membership is never happy, always wants more, always wants the forum custom-tailored to their exact interests.  Yeah, sure.  We’ll allow your bigass mannequins and fuckable furry plushes!  Bring them all.  We welcome them with open arms.

I realized yesterday that I’m not afraid of detail photos. So here are some bigass (warning: big files linked from the thumbnails) , detailed photos of the most recent faceup I’ve done – a modded F-17 girl. I didn’t do the mods, just the faceup. Michelle wanted her to be heavily blushed, as though she was flushed from having a fever.

I am soooooo tired this morning.  Man.  Woke up to a freezing apartment, and it is just so, so cold out.  It’s about 8° F… but it’s windy.  According the the weather report, with the windchill factor, it actually feels like -8° F. Awesome.  It was so cold that my car doors wouldn’t open because the mechanisms were frozen.  When I got the back door open, it wouldn’t stay closed because the latch was stuck.  Mandy had to sit in the back and hold it closed!  Fortunately, by the time we got to work, it had thawed sufficiently to close properly.

When it’s this cold out, I just don’t want to do anything but sleep!

Leeke posted the winners to their contest… and with the exception of one or two, they’re all really awesome.  Like, to the point where I feel a little silly for having even entered. Next time I’ll give myself more time and do a fully colored pic and really try.  Like I said before, it was good for me to do any drawing at all.  I really like to draw, but I almost never do it anymore.  I was doodling a little last night while I was waiting for some MSC to dry [which, incidentally, dried badly and wrecked what I'd been doing anyway... I think because it's cold in the vestibule where I spray]… and I remembered how much I enjoy doing erotic illustrations. ;)

I also have a few ideas for flower-related drawings that I want to do.

Making the tea label yesterday reminded me that I need to take some pictures of Limit.  I’ve never actually photographed him… I love the Karon head, too.  I really love K-doll heads.

Anyway, enough daydreaming – back to the fun fun accounting.
